Inspirational Mondays // The 1 Week Stress Detox

6:00 AMAnonymous

I know, it seems counter intuitive. It's supposed to be inspirational, make you want to kick away the lazy and be a super hero for the week, but let's tone down for a bit. There are actually major benefits in a 1 week Stress detox. Especially if you're an on the go kind of person, this is going to be amazing for you. Without further ado, the steps for your one week stress detox.

1. Don't do ANYTHING unnecessary.

Keep life simple. For this week, Go to work/school, go home. Relax. Seriously. Don't do anything this week that doesn't need to be done. We mean it. No deep cleanings, folding up clothes and arranging them in order of color. Don't be a complete slob and let your home or life get into disarray but this week, those little extra chores are not needed. It won't kill you if a speck of dust is left on the carpet.

2. Leave the World Behind

This truly might be the hardest thing we ask you to do for your 1 Week Stress Detox. Stay off social media. That includes: Tinder, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Blogs (yes even us), Snapchat,  Instagram, Wanelo, whatever social platform you use. Keep off! You run the risk of getting sucked into unnecessary drama, or depressed by some news that's came up, or maybe your friend's got together without you...so many things. Just keep off for a week! Spend this time to get sucked into a good book, or even some art projects.

3. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

What this truly means is don't complain. Did the dude of the bus not move his backpack for you, or if the drive thru lane was taking too long, just don't complain on it. You've seen it before, the most carefree people in the world seem to be the less stressed out...well that's because they are. Don't sweat it girlfriend, everything will be o.k.

4. Manage your time WISELY

Time is more precious then money itself. So manage it wisely. This will help out later down the road (maybe even make more time to be lazy!) Do assignments when you get them, have a schedule for your chores, that way you avoid doing it all at once...cause seriously, no one likes a chore/errand day.

5. 1 Day off Work

I know, you didn't give a good notice in advance, but if you can take a day off work (and it won't financially cripple you), Do it. When is the last time you had a random Thursday to do you? If this is something you can do, do it. It's very liberating, and it goes to show that YES you can just take a day and the world will not fall apart.

P.S. The WORST days to take off are Mondays, and Fridays. Try Tuesday - Thursday.

6. Do. Absolutely. Nothing.

Spare some time for Nothing. That doesn't mean lounge about and read a book or surf the web, it means do nothing. In a bed, on a dock, or in a nice bath, do nothing. If gives you time to refresh, get lost in your thoughts and builds a good relationship with YOU. Who knows, you might come up with and amazing idea to do later on, or even gather the courage to ask someone out.

7. Get precious sleep.

With the hectic lifestyle you lead, whether your a student or a mother, you're probably sacrificing some sleep for someone or something. Get some sleep, but not so much that you turn into a couch potato, get enough to be refreshed. Whether you just need a 20 minute power nap, or a 5 hour coma, get some sleep.

8. Eat Right

I say eat right instead of healthy for a few reasons. Sure, eating healthy is great and we should be doing it more, but I don't think it will kill you if you eat a McChicken either. Take the time this week to make something healthy and good for you, and try to eat right. If you slack and eat bad food all this week, you're going to be feeling worse.
